Artwork Guidelines for Same Day Printing

Getting your artwork right before printing can make the whole process faster and smoother. At Print in London we understand that not everyone is a professional designer, and you may not always have a perfect print-ready file.

That’s why our team checks your artwork, helps with basic adjustments and provides an online mock-up before printing, so you can see what we’re preparing before we start production.

Can You Print a Sample Before My Full Order?

Yes. If you are ordering a large quantity and want to check the actual print quality first, we can produce a physical printed sample before you commit to the full production run.

For example, if you need 10,000 flyers, you may want to see one printed copy first to check:

• Colour
• Image quality
• Text and readability
• Paper and finish
• Size and measurements
• Overall print quality

We can produce a physical sample for an additional cost. If required, we can also arrange postage so you can receive and check the sample before approving the full order.

The same applies to T shirt printing, tote bags, garments and other custom products. Clothing brands and businesses often want to check the print quality, colour, resolution and how the finished design looks before placing a larger order.

Physical Sample vs Online Mock-Up

There are two different options depending on how quickly you need your order.

Our online mock-up is free and is normally the quickest option. We can show you digitally how your artwork is going to look before we send it to production.

If you need to physically check the finished print, we can produce a paid physical sample.

A physical sample is particularly useful when you have time to check the actual printed colour, material, finish or garment before approving a large production run.

However, if you need same day printing urgently, waiting for a physical sample to be produced, posted and approved can add significant time.

For urgent jobs, we normally recommend the free online mock up and digital approval because it allows us to move into production much faster.

In some cases, we can make an exception and produce a sample on the same day, but this depends on the product, timing and production requirements. It may also mean arranging two separate deliveries one for the sample and another for the completed bulk order.

Can I Check the Print Quality Before You Produce a Large Quantity?

Yes.

If you’re ordering a large quantity, we understand that you may want reassurance before we continue with the complete production run.

Depending on the product and printing method, we can produce an initial copy for you to check.

We have both digital printing and litho printing capabilities, so for suitable bulk orders we can help you assess the finished result before continuing with the full run.

If you’re happy with the first copy, we can continue with the remaining quantity.

This can be especially useful for:

Can I Visit Your Shop and Check My Printing?

Yes.

We have a shop front with customer service, so you can come in and speak to our team directly.

You don’t need to make an appointment just to visit us.

If you’re ordering a large quantity and want to discuss your artwork or check the quality before we continue, you can come into the shop and speak to the team.

For suitable bulk printing jobs, we can also produce an initial copy for you to check. If you’re happy with the result, we can continue with the production.

This is particularly useful if you’re unsure about the colour, paper, finish, size or overall appearance of your printed product.

Can I Get Help With My Artwork In Store?

Yes.

If you’re not sure whether your file is suitable for printing, you can bring it with you and speak to our team.

Our in-house designers and customer service team can look at your artwork and explain what may need to be changed.

For urgent jobs, this can be useful because you don’t have to spend hours trying to work out what’s wrong with the file yourself.

We’ll look at the artwork, explain any issues and, where possible, help prepare it for printing.

What Is the Best Option for an Urgent Printing Order?

If you need your printing today, the quickest option is normally:

Send us your artwork → we check it → we prepare it if necessary → we send you a free online mock-up → you approve it → we start printing.

If you have more time and want to physically inspect the finished product before committing to a large quantity, a paid physical sample may be the better option.

The right choice depends on how urgent your order is and how important it is for you to physically check the final printed result before production.
